A new wildfire in Albany County has prompted the county sheriff’s office to order the evacuation of all residents in a 2-mile area south of Tie Siding and just north of the Wyoming–Colorado border.
According to Watch Duty, the new Fish Creek Fire has already grown to 10 acres. The fire appears to be burning a mountainside to the west of Cherokee Park Road.
The Albany County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday night that all residents near the road and Fish Creek Ranch need to evacuate immediately. “If you are in this area, leave immediately,” a sheriff’s office Facebook post read. “Do not wait for additional notice. Gather only essential items if you can do so safely and evacuate as quickly as possible.”
Others should avoid the area so emergency first responders can focus on the fire. The office said it would provide an update as soon as one is available.
