According to the National Weather Service in Birmingham, heat indices will range between 100 and 105 today, Thursday, July 30. Temperatures trend downward over the weekend with highs generally in the mid to upper 80s, which is well below average for the first part of August, said James Spann, Alabama Weather Network Chief Meteorologist.
