Waynesburg Central’s Teagan Crouse Leads Touchdown Club After Dominant Week One

Waynesburg, Pa. – Waynesburg Central’s senior running back Teagan Crouse burst onto the high‑school football scene this week, seizing the early lead in the Herald‑Standard Touchdown Club race for the 2026 season. Crouse accounted for five of the team’s six touchdowns in a 43‑0 rout of West Greene, scoring on runs of 6, 48 and 9 yards and adding two touchdown passes to teammate Jack Ricciuti for 18 points total.

Other early scorers

Jack Ricciuti’s two receptions (48 and 9 yards) contributed 12 points, tying him with several players for fourth place. Connellsville’s Linkon Keller and Beth‑Center’s DeSeaon Whipkey each posted two touchdowns and a two‑point conversion, also earning 14 points and sharing second place.

Keller’s scores came on long throws from quarterback Jeffrey Nicholson—an 84‑yard strike and an 80‑yard bomb that proved decisive in the Falcons’ 21‑15 victory over Southmoreland in the inaugural “Battle of 119.” Whipkey was the only player in Week One to score both a receiving and a rushing touchdown, catching a 46‑yard pass from Chase Bebout and later sprinting 35 yards for a score.

Additional highlights

Beth‑Center’s Enzo Brown recorded the season’s first pick‑six, returning an interception 40 yards in a 34‑6 win over Brentwood, and also caught a 15‑yard touchdown pass for a total of 12 points. Laurel Highlands’ Jonah Coleman scored the first fumble‑recovery touchdown of the year, adding a 5‑yard receiving score for another 12‑point effort.

Other players tied for fourth place with 12 points include California’s Chase Shemansky (16‑ and 10‑yard receptions), California’s Brandon Meier (50‑ and 2‑yard runs), Carmichaels’ KC Shook (80‑ and 10‑yard runs) and Uniontown’s Mike Thomas (7‑ and 47‑yard runs). Uniontown’s Gavin Radford logged the first punt‑return touchdown, a 30‑yard sprint in a 47‑0 victory over Brownsville.

The week also featured three field goals, the longest a 36‑yard effort by Waynesburg’s Nate Ricciuti. Mount Pleasant’s Tyke Snyder (31 yards) and Laurel Highlands’ Jackson Nairn (25 yards) added to the kicking tally.

As the season unfolds, the Touchdown Club leaderboard will continue to shift, but Crouse’s explosive start gives Waynesburg Central a strong foothold heading into Week Two.
