Warren Township PTA Hosts In‑Person Forum for School Board Candidates Sept. 22

The Warren Township Council of PTAs is sponsoring a live forum for the six individuals running for the three at‑large seats on the Warren Township school board. The event will take place at 7 p.m. on Sept. 22 in the Warren Education & Community Center, 975 N. Post Road, and will also be streamed for those who prefer to watch from home.

Who’s on the ballot?

Three incumbents—Terri Amos, Rachel Burke and Kevin Humphrey Sr.—are seeking re‑election. Challengers Jerry Crites, Samantha Douglas and Steve Tutsie will be offering fresh perspectives. All candidates are eligible to represent any resident of Warren Township, as the seats are elected at‑large.

Why the forum matters for families

Parents and grandparents who care about the quality of education for their children are encouraged to attend. The PTA council stresses that meeting candidates face‑to‑face allows voters to gauge each person’s commitment to strong families, faith‑based values and academic excellence. Attendees can submit questions ahead of time via the PTA’s online form, ensuring that the most pressing concerns—curriculum choices, school safety and support for parental involvement—are addressed.

How to participate

Community members can join the discussion in the Warren Education & Community Center or watch the live stream on the PTA’s website. The forum will feature brief introductions from each candidate, followed by a moderated Q&A session. The PTA will also provide printed candidate bios from Mirror Indy’s 2026 Voter’s Guide for anyone who prefers a hard copy.

What to expect

Expect a respectful, family‑focused dialogue. The PTA has asked candidates to speak to how they will protect parental rights in the classroom, uphold traditional values, and ensure fiscal responsibility in the district’s budget. The forum is an opportunity for voters to hear directly how each candidate plans to support teachers, improve facilities, and keep education aligned with community standards.

Contact information

For more details, email PTA council member Carley Lanich at [email protected] or follow her on X @carleylanich. The PTA reminds residents that voting for the school board will occur on the same day as the general election, and each household may select up to three candidates.

By attending the forum, Warren Township families can make an informed choice that reflects their values and safeguards the future of local schools.
