A recent Fox News poll reveals that voters are uncertain about the effectiveness of a new agreement with Iran in preventing the development of nuclear weapons. Sixty-four percent of voters believe it is unlikely that a peace agreement with the U.S. will stop Iran from pursuing nukes, including more than half of Republicans, independents, and Democrats.
Poll Results
The survey, conducted from June 12-15, 2026, also found that 58% of voters think the U.S. made the wrong decision in taking military action against Iran in February, while 41% believe it was the right call. Additionally, 76% of voters think it is important to end Iran’s nuclear program, and 87% say it’s important to avoid a long-term conflict.
Voters who think the U.S. made the right decision in taking military action are twice as likely as those who say it was wrong to think a peace deal will stop Iran. Concern about tensions with Iran turning into a long-term U.S. military commitment is also widespread, with 70% saying they are extremely or very worried.
Iran Agreement
The Trump administration announced a memorandum of understanding with Iran, which includes a reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and a 60-day ceasefire. However, voters remain skeptical about the agreement, with 64% disapproving of the job President Donald Trump is doing handling Iran.
