Pinellas County residents have a range of ways to serve their neighborhoods this fall. The Impact Connector highlights five local nonprofit events and volunteer programs that need time, talent, supplies or financial support.
Purple Paws Initiative fundraiser – Clearwater Beach
IgniteHer, Inc. will host “Bound By Love: Fashion With Purpose” on Thursday, August 27, 6–9 p.m., at the Clearwater Beach Recreation Center (69 Bay Esplanade). The evening features a runway curated by designer Zhanna Kens, live music by guitarist Daryal Kafkasso Erdem, food, drinks and raffle prizes. All proceeds benefit the Purple Paws Initiative, a program that helps survivors of domestic violence keep their pets safe by covering emergency veterinary care and temporary boarding. Tickets cost $60 for general admission and $100 for VIP front‑row seats. Attendees are encouraged to bring donations for local animal shelters and rescue groups.
Charity tea party for SPCA Tampa Bay – Clearwater Community Volunteers Center
On Saturday, September 12, from 3–5 p.m., the Clearwater Community Volunteers Center will host a free tea party to benefit SPCA Tampa Bay. Guests can enjoy tea and scones while contributing in‑kind items such as blankets, towels, dog and cat toys, beds, leashes, interactive feeders and pet‑store gift cards. An Amazon wish list is also available for those unable to attend. The event is located at 133 N. Fort Harrison Avenue.
Volunteer with the Florida Guardian ad Litem Office – Pinellas County
The Guardian ad Litem Office, which represents abused, abandoned and neglected children in the Pinellas County foster‑care system, seeks volunteers for a 10‑hour‑per‑month commitment over 12–18 months. Volunteers must be 21 or older, hold a valid driver’s license, pass a background check and attend an orientation. The role supports vulnerable children both in the community and in court.
Saturday morning meal service – Celebrate Outreach! (St. Petersburg)
Celebrate Outreach!, a St. Petersburg nonprofit dedicated to ending homelessness, needs volunteers for its Saturday morning meal service at 100 Mirror Lake. Volunteers assist with meal preparation, setup, serving bagged meals, collecting donated food and shopping for supplemental items. Service runs from about 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
The Attic Resale Shop volunteer positions – Clearwater
Morton Plant Hospital’s thrift store, The Attic Resale Shop, is looking for volunteers to create a welcoming shopping environment. Shifts are available Monday, Wednesday and Friday from noon to 4 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Duties include sorting donations, assisting customers and helping with merchandising. Volunteers must complete a background check, attend an orientation and undergo a TB screening. The shop is located at 1241 S. Fort Harrison Ave.
These opportunities illustrate how Pinellas County residents can make a tangible difference in areas ranging from animal welfare to child advocacy and homelessness relief. Organizations are also inviting groups and churches to submit their own volunteer needs, ensuring a steady flow of community‑building projects.
