Voices and Votes Exhibit Concludes in Sheridan on June 13

The Museum at the Bighorns in Sheridan is currently hosting the Voices and Votes: Democracy in America exhibit, which will be available for viewing until June 13. This traveling Smithsonian exhibition delves into the 250-year history of American democracy, focusing on how citizens have influenced government through voting, civic participation, and public debate.

Reflecting on Democracy

Museum Executive Director Carrie Edinger emphasized that the exhibit underscores the nation’s continuous journey toward creating ‘a more perfect union.’ It encourages visitors to contemplate the role of democracy within their own communities. This exhibit is part of Sheridan County’s America 250 celebration, brought to Wyoming through a collaboration with the Wyoming State Museum and the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service.

Thanks to the generosity of The Homer A. and Mildred S. Scott Foundation, admission to the museum remains free through August 31. Visitors can explore the exhibit during regular museum hours. After its time in Sheridan, the exhibit will travel to Cheyenne, where it will be featured as part of the celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the United States.
