Violent J, a member of the hip-hop group Insane Clown Posse, has a passion for pro wrestling that spans his entire life. The 54-year-old Michigan native started wrestling in 1983 and later appeared in Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE), and World Championship Wrestling (WCW).
From Music to Wrestling
Violent J’s love for wrestling was initially overshadowed by his music career, but he eventually returned to the sport. He and his partner, Shaggy 2 Dope, were approached by the WWF to produce music for a tag team called The Oddities, which led to their own wrestling debut.
Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope went on to start their own promotion, Juggalo Championship Wrestling (JCW), which has gained popularity over the years. JCW runs a weekly Thursday night show on YouTube called ‘Lunacy’ and hosts a flagship event called Bloodymania at the annual Gathering of the Juggalos.
Bloodymania 19 is set to take place on August 20 and 21 at Mother Nature’s Riverfront Retreat in Macks Creek, Missouri. Violent J promises that the event will have something for everyone, with a variety of wrestling matches and entertainment.
