Vice President JD Vance recently shared his journey back to Christianity and his conversion to the Catholic faith in an interview with Fox News Digital. Vance’s new memoir, ‘Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith,’ recounts his path from a Protestant childhood to atheism and ultimately to the Catholic faith he practices today.
Faith and Family
Vance credits the kindness and character of Christians in his life with drawing him back to faith. ‘I was really worried about where I went to school and what kind of job I had and what kind of money that I made. But I felt like that wasn’t making me a good person, whereas the Christians in my life seem to have it figured out,’ Vance said. He also expressed his love for the dynamic nature of American Christianity, with its various denominations.
Vance’s family life is centered around faith, with his wife, Usha, participating in church rituals with him and their children, despite not being a Christian herself. Vance has three children, Ewan, Vivek, and Mirabel, and is expecting a fourth child in July.
