Ventura Welcomes Bike MS Los Angeles Coastal Challenge

Ventura, California, played host to the Bike MS Los Angeles Coastal Challenge, an event that brought together hundreds of cyclists on World MS Day. Participants crossed the finish line at San Buenaventura State Beach, marking the culmination of a ride aimed at raising money and awareness for multiple sclerosis (MS).

Community Spirit and Support

Among the participants was Diane Von Heyneman, team captain of Diane’s Devilish Dynamos, who expressed her gratitude for the support shown by the community. ‘It is very inspiring to see people supporting the Multiple Sclerosis Society,’ Von Heyneman said. ‘We have got to raise our money, hoping to find a cure someday and therapies, so I am very touched by how many riders do come out.’

Eron Constante, another cyclist, completed a 63-mile ride and received a medal for his efforts. ‘This is a Bike MS medal, and what it means to me is I am able to ride for a good cause and have fun,’ Constante shared. Although he has no personal connection to MS, he has met many people affected by the condition through the event.

Route and Participation

The cyclists navigated their way through Ventura with the help of direction signs posted along Harbor Blvd. and other roads, covering distances up to 100 miles. The event continued with a group ride planned for Sunday, further emphasizing the community’s commitment to supporting those affected by MS.
