Quick response by a vigilant citizen
A customer who was servicing the station’s fire extinguishers acted swiftly, using the equipment to put out the flames on the vehicle before officers arrived. The rapid action prevented the fire from spreading to nearby pumps and other vehicles.
Suspect located and taken to hospital
Police found the suspect hiding beneath a semi‑tractor trailer parked nearby. He was arrested on the scene and transported to a local hospital for treatment of burns and gasoline exposure. No other injuries were reported.
