The City of Vancouver and the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site will host a free, family-friendly celebration at Pearson Field on Saturday, August 15th, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event, A Flight Through Time, celebrates history, innovation, and community with various activities.
Event Highlights
Guests can enjoy live music and food from vendors. The 99s, a historic organization of women aviators, will unveil a freshly painted compass rose mural. Local historian and author Martin Middlewood will give a talk on his recent book about Pearson Field.
Visitors can view displays of static aircraft and vintage cars, then vote for their favorite in The People’s Choice Awards. The Federal Aviation Administration Safety Team and the Washington Pilots Association will host workshops for wings credit in the Tex Rankin Theater inside the Pearson Field Air Museum.
C-TRAN will offer free shuttle rides between Pearson Field and Parking Lot A at 405 East From 10 am to 3 pm, the shuttle will run every 30 minutes starting at the parking lot. There is no parking at Pearson Field, and visitors are encouraged to park on the street or in parking lot A, then walk or shuttle to the event.
