EL PASO, Texas – UTEP women’s basketball head coach Keitha Adams revealed the Miners’ 2026‑27 schedule on Wednesday, highlighting a historic shift to the Mountain West Conference after two decades in Conference USA.
Home games and early season excitement
The season opens with six straight home contests at the Don Haskins Center, beginning with Western New Mexico on Nov. 2. The Miners will then host Incarnate Word (Nov. 7), rival New Mexico State (Nov. 10), Alabama State (Nov. 14), Kansas City (Nov. 18) and Texas Southern (Nov. 21). Adams said, “What an exciting year for our UTEP Miner fans. The Mountain West Conference brings back great history. We’re looking forward to this year’s season. We have 16 home games in the Don Haskins Center, 10 new players and an exciting group. I’m fired up to start the season and play some great basketball!”
Mid‑season tournament and non‑conference road trips
Thanksgiving week finds the Miners on the road for the Texas State Tournament (Nov. 25‑28), where they will face host Texas State, Bradley and Pacific. December brings three non‑conference road games, starting with the second Battle of I‑10 at New Mexico State on Dec. 5, followed by matchups at UC Irvine (Dec. 12) and CSU Bakersfield (Dec. 14). The non‑conference slate closes at home against UC Santa Barbara on Dec. 19.
Mountain West debut
UTEP’s first Mountain West campaign kicks off with back‑to‑back road games at New Mexico (Dec. 30) and UNLV (Jan. 2). The Miners make their conference home debut against UC Davis on Jan. 6, then host San José State (Jan. 9). Subsequent trips include Grand Canyon (Jan. 13) before returning home to meet Nevada (Jan. 16). The schedule continues with Wyoming (Jan. 20), Air Force (Jan. 23), UNLV (Jan. 27) and a road finale at Nevada (Jan. 30).
Late‑season matchups and conference tournament
After a bye, UTEP opens February at home versus Hawai‘i (Feb. 5). The Miners then travel to UC Davis (Feb. 10), host Wyoming (Feb. 13), and embark on back‑to‑back road trips to Air Force (Feb. 17) and San José State (Feb. 20). The month ends with a home game against Grand Canyon (Feb. 24) before a road trip to Hawai‘i (Feb. 27). The regular season concludes at the Don Haskins Center against New Mexico on March 2.
The Miners will cap the season at the 2027 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Women’s Basketball Championship, March 7‑10, held at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
This schedule marks a new era for UTEP women’s basketball, as the program transitions to the Mountain West after competing in Conference USA since the 2005‑06 season. Dates and times remain subject to change, with broadcast details to follow.
