Utep Miners Suffer 51 0 Loss To 10 Oklahoma In Season Opener

Norman, Oklahoma – The UTEP Miners began their 2026 football season with a tough loss, falling 51-0 to the No. 10 ranked Oklahoma Sooners in the season‑opening matchup. The defeat leaves the Miners at 0-1 as they look ahead to their first home game.

Oklahoma dominated from start to finish, scoring at will while UTEP struggled to move the ball. Miners quarterback EJ Colson completed six of twelve passes for a total of 52 yards, unable to generate a sustained offense against the Sooners’ defense.
