The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced a nationwide Class I recall of roughly 167,639 pounds of raw pork, beef and goat products after determining that the meat was produced without federal inspection and packaged with a counterfeit USDA inspection mark.

Company and distribution details

The products were manufactured by Star Meat Delivery Inc., a company based in Lucama, North Carolina. The company shipped the meat in bulk to a distributor in Georgia, which then sent the items to retail stores and restaurants across the United States.

Products affected

The recall includes a wide range of items sold under the A&D Foods label, such as ground pork, chorizo, pork chops, pork ribs, pork feet, beef ribs, oxtail, various goat cuts, and other meat products. Many of the items were vacuum‑sealed in cardboard boxes and may have been repackaged by retailers with store‑applied stickers that replace the original label.

Safety concerns and consumer guidance

The USDA classifies this recall as Class I, the most serious level, indicating that the products are considered misbranded and unsafe for consumption. Because the meat was produced without inspection, it could contain harmful bacteria, undeclared allergens, or other contaminants.

Consumers should check for the establishment number “EST. 1363” on any packaging. That number does not correspond to a federally inspected facility. If you have any of the listed products, discard them immediately or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
