Arizona State University has introduced a new degree program in content creation, allowing students to earn a bachelor of arts in the field. The program, offered through the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, focuses on creating powerful content across various platforms, including video, podcasts, and social media.

According to the school’s website, the program provides participants with the opportunity to build their brand and create content while learning from world-class faculty. The coursework includes general communications classes, such as Media and Society, Mass Communications Ethics, and Information Gathering, as well as courses specific to influencing, like The Digital Audience, Videography for Mass Media, Interpersonal Influence, and How to Become an Influencer.
As a final project, students will be required to start an account on a social media platform of their choice, implement a growth strategy, create content, and increase their follower count. Jessica Pucci, senior associate dean at the Cronkite School, stated that students will have demonstrable audience growth and a platform with real content and followers by the end of the program.
