Universal Kids Resort in Frisco Set to Open July 2026

North Texas families have a new destination to look forward to this summer as Universal announces the opening of its Universal Kids Resort in Frisco. The park, designed specifically with younger children and their families in mind, will officially open its doors on July 1, 2026.

A Unique Experience for Families

Located on a 20-acre site, the Universal Kids Resort will feature seven themed lands inspired by beloved characters and franchises such as Shrek, SpongeBob SquarePants, Jurassic World, Minions, Trolls, Puss in Boots, and Gabby’s Dollhouse. These areas are designed to be ‘kid-sized,’ offering interactive spaces for children to play, explore, and cool off.

Sharon Parker, Director of Marketing and Sales for Universal Kids Resort, emphasized the park’s focus on children, stating, ‘This is a theme park built with kids in mind.’ While primarily targeting children aged 3 to 8, the park is expected to appeal to the entire family.

Accommodations and Ticketing

Complementing the park is the new Universal Kids Resort Hotel, which is conveniently located just steps from the park entrance. The hotel will offer 300 rooms and family suites, all featuring themed design elements and amenities tailored for family visits. Room options include the Standard Queen, Deluxe Queen, and Signature Queen rooms, accommodating up to five guests, and Family Suites for up to six guests.

Universal has also announced that tickets are now available for purchase. Options include one-day and two-day admission, vacation packages, and the park’s first annual pass. Packages may include hotel stays, early park admission, and other on-site perks such as a specialty ‘1.5-Day’ admission ticket.

A Boost for Frisco

The resort is anticipated to be a significant draw for both local families and tourists, enhancing Frisco’s reputation as a burgeoning hub for entertainment and development. Universal first revealed plans for the Frisco park in 2023, presenting it as a more accessible, regional alternative to its larger theme park destinations in Orlando and Hollywood.
