The UCI hospital in Los Alamitos was placed on lockdown, forcing officers from two police departments to respond to the area, authorities announced Wednesday.
The Los Alamitos Police Department said it was assisting the Long Beach Police Department near the UCI Medical Center on Katella Avenue near Los Alamitos Boulevard.
Police did not say what triggered the lockdown. As the operation continued, authorities urged the public to avoid the area.
