Tyler Robinson’s preliminary hearing in the assassination of Charlie Kirk came to a close without a decision from Judge Tony Graf Jr. in Provo, Utah. The week-long proceeding introduced a wide range of evidence to the public, including testimony from Utah State Bureau of Investigation Agent David Hull, which listed Kirk’s death as a homicide caused by a gunshot wound to the neck.
Debunking Conspiracy Theories
The hearing also addressed various conspiracy theories surrounding the event, including claims of an exploding microphone and speculation about the lack of a visible ‘exit wound’ in graphic video of Kirk’s murder. However, the doctor who performed the autopsy was confident that the gunshot was the cause of death.
Additionally, investigators presented evidence that placed Robinson at the scene of the crime, including surveillance video of a Dodge Challenger and a compilation video taken by Utah Valley University surveillance cameras showing Robinson’s movements on the day of the murder.
The defense team attempted to introduce evidence of other, unrelated weapons recovered at the scene, but this did not appear to sway the court’s opinion. The hearing ended with Judge Graf agreeing to allow lawyers to file briefs before making a decision on whether Robinson’s case should go to trial.
