Two arrested in connection with 2025 fatal shooting of Bexar County teen

San Antonio – The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday that two local men have been arrested and charged for their role in the fatal shooting of 17‑year‑old Alianna Nicole Ujueta last year. Ujueta was shot and killed on September 28, 2025, during a house party in the 13,900 block of Luckey Road, a neighborhood that has long been a close‑knit part of the county’s southwest community.

Arrests and charges

According to investigators, 23‑year‑old Michael Anthony Martinez and 19‑year‑old Angel Xavier Marchan Jr. were present at the party, witnessed the shooting, and later helped the alleged shooter, Deshawn Suggs, dispose of the firearm. Both men are charged with a third‑degree felony for tampering with physical evidence with intent to impair. They were taken into custody on September 1 and September 2, respectively, and remain in the Bexar County Jail.

Investigation findings

Sheriff Javier Salazar’s office says evidence points to Suggs as the individual who pulled the trigger. After the shooting, Suggs allegedly fled the scene and handed the gun to Marchan and Martinez, who then attempted to sell it in an effort to conceal the weapon. The sheriff’s department’s ongoing investigation led to the recent arrests.

Suspect’s death

Deshawn Suggs was found dead on January 17 inside a vehicle on the West Side of San Antonio, with apparent gunshot wounds. While the circumstances of his death remain under review, the discovery confirms the suspect is no longer a threat to the community.

Community response

The tragic loss of a young life has resonated deeply with residents of Bexar County. Local churches, youth groups, and families have gathered to pray for Ujueta’s family and to call for continued vigilance against violence. Sheriff Salazar emphasized the department’s commitment to bringing justice for victims and their families, stating, “We will pursue every lead and hold accountable anyone who tries to hide the truth.”

What’s next

Martinez and Marchan are scheduled for a preliminary hearing later this month. The sheriff’s office encourages anyone with additional information about the September 2025 shooting to contact the Bexar County Sheriff’s investigative unit.

Authorities continue to work with local partners to ensure public safety and to support the grieving family of Alianna Nicole Ujueta, whose memory remains a reminder of the importance of community solidarity.
