As the new school year approaches, several organizations in Tuscaloosa are hosting back-to-school events to provide students with the resources they need to succeed. The Howard Initiative, in partnership with the Culver Road Church, is hosting a back-to-school giveaway from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 8. The event will feature backpacks, school supplies, a bounce house, face painting, and food.

The Narrow Way Church is also hosting a back-to-school bash from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the same day, offering backpacks, community resources, door prizes, games, and prayer. The First African Baptist Church will host a back-to-school movie night at 6 p.m., featuring games, a movie, school supplies, and snacks.
