Six units at The Walk, a luxury student apartment complex in Tuscaloosa, have been declared uninhabitable by a city inspector due to mold issues. The complex is located near the University of Alabama campus.
Mold Remediation
A Tuscaloosa city spokesperson confirmed that mold remediation experts conducted air quality tests after what appeared to be mold was found inside some apartments at The Walk. The city stated that all units deemed uninhabitable cannot be occupied until they have been completely remediated by a professional remediation specialist and a new independent third-party air quality test is provided to the City.
The Walk, located at 899 12th Street, markets itself as the closest student housing property to the University of Alabama’s campus, with units situated just behind Tutwiler Hall near Sorority Row and Bryant-Denny Stadium.
