The city of Tuscaloosa is coming together to address issues of gun violence, domestic violence, suicide, and mental health through the first-ever Stop the Violence Community Day Out. Hosted by Mourning Moms, this free community gathering will be held at Palmore Park from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Healing and Unity
The event is especially encouraging parents to bring children and teenagers ages 13 to 17, particularly those who have experienced the loss of a close family member. Guests can expect speakers sharing stories of loss and hope, activities for children, food and refreshments, local vendors, and fellowship throughout the afternoon.
A candlelight remembrance and “Bubbles of Hope” tribute are also planned. Organizers challenged community members who have been vocal about the need for change to show up in person and be part of the solution, emphasizing that the event is not about politics, but about bringing people together to promote healing and support.
