Tulsa, Oklahoma – The Tulsa Artists’ Coalition (TAC) turned a Halloween celebration into a vibrant art experience for the city. On Friday night the organization hosted a costume‑themed party alongside a pop‑up exhibit titled “Sunday Collection II,” highlighting paintings, sculptures and mixed‑media pieces created by members of the coalition’s Splits Program.
Community‑focused art event
“It’s the biggest mission we have, honestly, besides showcasing and spotlighting local art,” said David Morrison, president of TAC. Morrison emphasized that bringing people together—whether they arrive in costume or simply to admire the works—reinforces Tulsa’s reputation as a dynamic and thriving arts community.
The Splits Program pairs two artists to collaborate on a single piece, encouraging creative dialogue and experimentation. The Friday night showcase displayed several of these collaborative works, ranging from abstract canvases to intricate sculptures. Attendees were invited to mingle, discuss the pieces, and enjoy the festive Halloween atmosphere.
Open to the public Saturday
Following the evening celebration, TAC opened its doors on Saturday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. for anyone interested in viewing the collection in a more relaxed setting. The exhibit is located in the coalition’s building near Reconciliation Way and Main Street in downtown Tulsa, making it easily accessible for residents and visitors alike.
“Tulsa is a dynamic and thriving arts community. We have some of the best of the best in Tulsa, and I’ll never be convinced otherwise,” Morrison added, underscoring the city’s strong support for local artists and cultural initiatives.
Supporting local creators
The Tulsa Artists’ Coalition, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting regional talent, regularly organizes exhibitions, workshops and community events. By combining holiday festivities with artistic expression, the group aims to broaden the audience for local art and foster a sense of shared cultural pride.
Community members are encouraged to attend the Saturday exhibit, meet the artists, and consider supporting future TAC programs through donations or volunteer involvement. Information about upcoming events and membership opportunities can be found on the coalition’s website.
Looking ahead
Building on the success of the Halloween pop‑up, TAC plans to host additional themed exhibitions throughout the year, further integrating the arts into Tulsa’s social calendar. The organization hopes these events will continue to draw diverse audiences, strengthen the city’s cultural fabric, and provide ongoing platforms for local creators to showcase their work.
