The Great American State Fair, a 16-day festival organized by Freedom250, a Trump-aligned nonprofit, has begun on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The event features pavilions from all 50 states and territories, showcasing their culture, heritage, and natural landscapes.
State Pavilions
Each state pavilion offers unique interactive experiences. For example, Arizona’s pavilion takes visitors on a sensory journey through Antelope Canyon, a Ponderosa pine forest, and a Sonoran Desert nightscape. Montana’s pavilion features a fossil-digging station, while Minnesota’s pavilion allows visitors to win prizes by selecting from a pond full of miniature common loons.
Some states, such as Washington, Massachusetts, Illinois, North Carolina, and Connecticut, declined to organize booths due to limited finances. However, groups from each state have volunteered to represent them at the fair.
Entertainment and Food
The fairgrounds will feature daily rodeo shows, meet-and-greets with American Miniature Therapy Horses, and musical performances. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of state fair classics, including jumbo corn dogs, turkey legs, and buckets of fries.
Freedom250’s mobile museums, known as the Freedom Trucks, will tell the story of America’s founding using AI-generated videos and artwork from Hillsdale College and PragerU.
