The Republican Party of Florida has officially opened the application process for residents looking to represent the state at the newly announced Republican Midterm Convention this fall. The move follows an announcement by President Donald J. Trump on his social media platform, Truth Social, detailing plans for the first-of-its-kind gathering.
Convention Details
The two-day national event is scheduled to take place in Dallas, Texas, on September 9 and 10. In his post, Trump called the upcoming convention a “truly Historic Event” designed to highlight the party’s legislative priorities and achievements under his America First platform.
Among the key policy points listed in the announcement were proposals for no taxes on tips, no taxes on overtime, and no taxes on Social Security benefits. The platform outline also emphasized stronger borders, safer communities, lower consumer costs, job creation, and American energy dominance.
According to the announcement, the convention will bring together everyday workers, industry innovators, and first responders, alongside scheduled live entertainment. Trump described the planned gathering as “a RALLY like none other.”
The Florida Republican Party quickly signaled its organizational backing for the Texas event. “The Florida GOP is all in,” Florida GOP Chairman Evan Power said in a statement. “We are fired up and ready to show up big for this historic event that will celebrate America’s comeback and the successes of President Trump’s America First agenda.”
State party officials noted that while the official delegate selection framework is currently being finalized, Florida Republicans who wish to attend are being encouraged to submit their expressions of interest immediately to secure a spot representing the state in Dallas.
