Transit changes
DASH Bus (Alexandria): Buses will follow a weekend schedule. Lines 102, 103, and 104 will not run.
Fairfax Connector: The system will operate on a holiday weekday schedule. The following routes will run on a Saturday timetable: 101, 109, 151, 152, 161, 162, 171, 308, 310, 321, 322, 371, 401, 402, 423, 463, 467, 558, 559, 574, 605, 610, 615, 622, 630, 642, 651, 672, 703, 721, 803, 901, 921, 924, 937, 950, 952, 954, 983, RIBS 1‑5. Routes 306, 660, and 662 will follow a regular weekday schedule. Any route not listed will not provide holiday weekday service.
Maryland Commuter Bus: All routes are canceled except Commuter Bus Route 201, which will run on a reduced schedule.
WMATA Metro: Trains will run on a weekend service schedule from 5 a.m. to midnight. Metro buses will follow a Saturday supplemental schedule. Pre‑scheduled subscription trips are automatically canceled, but riders can still book individual trips online or by phone.
Montgomery County Ride On: Buses will operate on a regular weekday schedule.
MARC Train (Maryland): All three lines will run on their normal schedule.
PRTC OmniRide: No service on the OmniRide Express. OmniRide Metro Express, OmniRide Local, and East‑West Express will maintain regular service.
TheBus (Arlington): Service runs on Monday, except Route P87, which is suspended.
Virginia Railway Express (VRE): Trains do not run on federal holidays, including this Monday.
DMV closures
All Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles offices will be closed on Oct. 12. Customers are encouraged to use online services for licensing, registration, and other transactions.
Local jurisdictions
County offices in Arlington, Fairfax, Falls Church, Charles, Howard, Montgomery, and Prince George’s counties will also be closed or operate limited hours in line with the federal holiday.
