The Texarkana Regional Arts and Humanities Council’s (TRAHC) 38th annual Adult Juried Exhibition will open with an awards reception at 6 p.m. Saturday in the Regional Arts Center, 321 W. Fourth St.
Celebrating Local Art
This year’s exhibition features over 100 pieces created by artists from near and far, selected from almost 300 submissions. The difficult task of choosing the pieces fell to Emily Budd, assistant professor of art in sculpture at Southern Methodist University.
According to Budd, the submissions demonstrated a variety of “materials, approaches, identities and perspectives.” She praised the artworks, saying they “demonstrate the vital role artists play in helping us better understand ourselves, one another, and the changing landscape around us.”
