A flat-bed tractor-trailer carrying aluminum panels jackknifed and crashed into a ditch off Interstate 75 in Pasco County on Thursday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
State troopers reported that the incident occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. near milepost 293. The commercial vehicle, driven by a 42-year-old man from Lady Lake, Florida, was traveling southbound when the driver lost control on the wet roadway.
After losing traction, the semi-truck veered onto the outside shoulder of the highway, struck a light pole, and came to a stop in an adjacent ditch.
Authorities confirmed that the driver did not sustain any injuries in the crash. No other vehicles were involved, and the Florida Highway Patrol did not release any statement or quotes regarding potential charges or the structural damage to the light pole.
