The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers defeated the Peoria Chiefs 9-2 on Friday night, thanks to a strong performance by Wande Torres. Torres struck out 10 batters in 7 innings, earning his sixth win of the season.

The Timber Rattlers’ offense was led by Luis Castillo, who hit a two-run double in the first inning to give Wisconsin a 2-0 lead. The team added to their lead in the fifth inning with a home run by Marco Dinges and a two-run homer by Castillo.
In the seventh inning, the Timber Rattlers scored three more runs, assisted by two errors by the Peoria Chiefs. Juan Baez tripled to center field, scoring Daniel Guilarte, and Tyler Rodriguez knocked in Baez with a grounder to second base.
Peoria scored their only two runs of the game in the seventh inning, with Michael Dattalo scoring on a play and Anyelo Encarnación hitting a single. However, the Timber Rattlers’ relievers, José Nova and Garrett Hodges, held the Chiefs to just those two runs, securing the 9-2 victory.
