Sykes, a former All-Star, entered the season averaging 18.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.2 steals over 17 games. She has already missed 19 games this year due to multiple foot issues, limiting her contributions despite a strong start to her career.
Morrow, who was traded from the Connecticut Sun on July 31, quickly became a key contributor for Toronto. In seven games she posted 9.3 points and 6.6 rebounds in just 19.4 minutes per contest before the knee injury forced her out.

The Tempo are currently 11-25 in their inaugural season, ranking third-worst in the league. Despite the loss of Sykes and Morrow, the team managed to snap a 12‑game losing streak with an 82‑79 victory in the same game that produced the injuries.
