Tomball Independent School District (TISD) has surpassed both state and previous district scores for the spring 2026 STAAR (State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness) tests. The district saw improvements in various subjects, including math and reading.
Test Scores
The highest scores achieved by the district were 98% in both the Biology and U.S. History end-of-course exams. However, the lowest score was in seventh-grade math, at 62%, which represents a 1 percentage point drop from the spring 2025 score of 63%.
According to Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath, the state is pleased with the gains students have shown in advanced mathematics and reading. Morath noted, “We are encouraged by continued gains in mathematics, especially with the growing number of students participating and succeeding in advanced mathematics courses. The gains in middle school reading are also notable, as it may be associated with the statewide ban on the use of cell phones in schools.”
Parents can find more information about their children’s test scores through the district’s resources.
