Titans wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson cleared of concussion after practice collision

During Thursday’s joint practice between the Tennessee Titans and the Chicago Bears, Titans wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson was involved in a helmet-to-helmet collision with Bears safety Xavier Woods. The hit, which Titans head coach Robert Saleh described as “cheap,” prompted immediate medical evaluation.

Robinson underwent a series of concussion protocols on the field. Early indications were positive, and he was able to walk to the locker room under his own power. Team doctors will continue to monitor him for any delayed symptoms, but the current assessment is that he did not sustain a concussion.

Background on Robinson

Robinson, 25, joined the Titans this offseason after signing a four-year, $78 million contract as a free agent. He spent four seasons with the New York Giants, where he recorded 268 receptions for 2,465 yards and nine touchdowns in 54 games (33 starts). In his first year with Tennessee, he posted career highs with 92 catches, 1,014 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

Practice context

The joint practice, a routine part of preseason preparation, turned briefly chaotic when the hit occurred, leading to a brief on‑field fracas before officials separated the two squads. Such practices are valuable for evaluating player health and team chemistry ahead of the upcoming season.

Next steps

The Titans will keep Robinson under observation in line with NFL concussion guidelines. If any symptoms emerge, he will receive further evaluation before returning to full practice duties.
