The Whiles, a local band, are set to release their new record, Hummingbird, and a revamped version of their debut album, Colors of the Year. The band’s lead singer, Joe Peppercorn, reflected on the past and the band’s journey, stating that redoing their debut album was a way to make peace with the past.
A New Chapter
The Whiles’ new record, Hummingbird, is a reflection of the band’s growth and maturity. Peppercorn’s writing has evolved, and he has incorporated themes of parenthood and getting older into the album. The title track, Hummingbird, takes inspiration from John Keats’ poem, Ode to a Nightingale.
The band will be celebrating the release of both Hummingbird and the revamped Colors of the Year in concert at Natalie’s Grandview on Friday, June 19, supported by Miranda Sound and Midori Mori.
