By OBBM Network Editorial Staff

Derived from an episode of Texarkana City Council.

As the summer heats up, the Texarkana City Council is busy recognizing local champions and preparing for upcoming events that will bring the community together. The council recently welcomed the Texarkana 14U All-Stars, who are gearing up to compete in the Dixie Baseball World Series with an impressive 10-0 record. The team’s achievement is a testament to the city’s thriving youth sports scene and the dedication of local coaches and players.

Recognizing Local Champions

The Texarkana City Council took a moment to recognize the team’s accomplishments and wish them luck in their upcoming tournament. The council also acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the team’s coaches and parents, who have supported the players throughout their journey.

As Council Member Healy noted, ‘We have a multitude of utility players here that can be put in multiple positions, I think that has a lot to do with some of our success.’ The team’s versatility and teamwork will undoubtedly serve them well as they face off against teams from other states in the tournament.

Upcoming Events

In addition to recognizing local champions, the council discussed various upcoming events that will take place in the city. The Texarkana Farmers Market will be open on July 18th and 25th, offering fresh produce and local goods to the community. The council also announced the Popsicles in the Park event, which will take place on July 16th, 23rd, and 30th at the Spring Lake Park Splash Pad.

The State of Lithium presentation, hosted by the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce, is another upcoming event that promises to be informative and engaging. The presentation will take place on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Texarkana Convention Center and will provide attendees with an opportunity to learn more about lithium and its uses in the area.

Air Show Recognition

The council also took a moment to recognize the key players in the recent air show, which brought in a significant crowd and showcased the city’s capabilities. The event was a huge success, with over 11,000 people attending and a wide range of activities and performances on display.

As one council member noted, ‘We went from having nothing to having 11,000 people show up. We brought in a tremendous amount of people from outside of the area and were able to… show what Texarkana is capable of.’ The air show was a testament to the city’s ability to host large events and bring the community together.

In conclusion, the Texarkana City Council is dedicated to recognizing local champions and preparing for upcoming events that will bring the community together. From youth sports to cultural events, the city has a wide range of activities and attractions that make it a great place to live and visit.
