Charges are pending after a video surfaced online showing a teen being beaten by a group of teens in Lenoir County. Sheriff Jackie Rogers told WRAL News that deputies were interviewing witnesses about the series of videos shared by several users on social media.
In one video, a teen is knocked to the ground when he is punched by a young woman. Two other videos show young men holding the same teen in chokeholds. Deputies have not identified the teen who was attacked, nor shared any information on their condition.
Rogers said everyone who participated in the assault will be held accountable and charged accordingly. The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office continues to review evidence in this case alongside the District Attorney.
