Tampa’s Pach’s Place: A 40-Year Breakfast Tradition Amid Renovations

For over 40 years, Pach’s Place has been a cherished breakfast destination for residents of South Tampa. Nestled within the Tahitian Inn, this local favorite remains open despite the ongoing renovations of its host building. Owner Cathy Kelly emphasizes the restaurant’s commitment to a family-first environment, where employees and guests know each other by name.

A Community Gathering Spot

Pach’s Place has served as a primary morning gathering space for the community, with some patrons making it a daily routine. ‘Everyone comes, everyone stops by Pach’s Place. It’s almost a daily routine for them,’ Kelly shared. ‘They wake up, they come to Pach’s Place, and then they start their day, which is really beautiful. That way we can check on them, they check on us, and it becomes a family. It’s more than just a restaurant. It’s a community.’

Kelly and her staff strive to be ‘the best crew in Tampa,’ focusing on customer service and ensuring that patrons feel the love and attention they deserve. ‘It’s more than just breakfast, it’s more than just food. It’s about love, it’s about being noticed, being paid attention to. People matter, that’s what makes Pach’s the best,’ Kelly stated.

Menu Highlights

Pach’s Place offers a vast menu for both breakfast and lunch, featuring locally roasted coffee, smash burgers, Cuban sandwiches, and handmade devil crabs. ‘We have eggs, we have the best coffee in town,’ Kelly noted. ‘We have the best burgers. Cuban sandwiches are good, our devil crabs are amazing. Handmade, everything’s always handmade.’

Open During Renovations

Despite the renovations at the Tahitian Inn, Pach’s Place remains open, serving breakfast and lunch seven days a week at 601 South Dale Mabry Highway. The construction has introduced some stress and impacted customer traffic, but Kelly remains optimistic about continuing to serve the community. The timeline for the hotel’s updates has not been publicly detailed, leaving some uncertainty about the duration of the disruptions.
