Chamberlain was forced into a dark storage container in his car and was repeatedly sexually assaulted at his apartment.

Chamberlain trusted her instinct to survive and quietly memorized details about her surroundings. When Evonitz fell asleep, she managed to free herself from her bindings and escape. She found people in a parking lot and pleaded with them to take her to the police.
