Eslinger’s Vision for Summa Health
Eslinger said she was drawn to Summa Health because of its acknowledgement that the healthcare system is broken and needs to change. She expressed her excitement to be a part of this change, stating that she wants to make healthcare more accessible, understandable, and focused on ensuring people are well.
Under Eslinger’s leadership, Summa Health has already begun its transition, with the introduction of an AI agent, Rachel, which calls patients after their hospital visit to check on their access to pharmaceuticals and restrooms. The hospital system has also implemented ambient listening technology to improve patient interactions and made improvements to the medical supply chain to save money.
Eslinger plans to review the hospital’s strategic plan and roadmap to determine the direction of the hospital system. She also wants to listen to frontline workers to understand their pain points and develop strategies to move healthcare forward.
