According to the team’s play-by-play announcer and manager of media relations, Garrett Greene, the idea for ‘Nothing Night’ came from a similar event held by the Lake Elsinore Storm in 2008. However, the Space Cowboys have decided to take a more moderate approach, keeping bathrooms and concessions available for fans.
The game will be a stripped-down version of the usual baseball experience, with no walk-up music, videos on the Jumbotron, or games on the field between innings. The focus will be entirely on the game, allowing fans to enjoy a more relaxed and traditional baseball experience.
The Space Cowboys will take on the Oklahoma City Comets on ‘Nothing Night’, and while there won’t be any frills, all the necessities for a modern baseball game will be available. The team has ensured that the manually operated scoreboard will be used, and pitch counts and automatic balls and strikes will be displayed.
