Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, is welcoming first-year students and their families as they prepare for the start of the fall semester on August 17.
Move-In Weekend
Move-in is taking place on August 14-15, with students unloading vehicles, setting up residence hall rooms, and getting ready for their first week on campus. For incoming first-year student Anna Baggett of Haughton, the transition began on Thursday when she moved into University Place a day early as a member of the President’s Leadership Program.
Baggett, who plans to study kinesiology, said she is excited about starting college but also feeling some stress as she prepares for the transition. She plans to become involved on campus through the President’s Leadership Program and Baptist Collegiate Ministry.
Baggett’s mother, Stephanie Baggett, said the family’s first visit to Northwestern State helped ease concerns about the transition. She is looking forward to watching her daughter grow into adulthood.
