A group of students recently rolled up their sleeves to help Habitat for Humanity build two brand-new homes for Sioux Falls families, bringing hands-on energy and community spirit to one of the city’s most meaningful nonprofit missions.

The volunteer effort, reported by Dakota News Now, saw young people contribute real construction labor alongside Habitat for Humanity crews — helping turn empty lots into places families can call home. It’s the kind of partnership that benefits everyone: families gain stable housing, and students gain experience, purpose, and a deeper connection to their community.

Also brightening the weekend in Sioux Falls, a local tattoo studio hosted walk-in tattoo sessions with proceeds benefiting the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society, according to Dakota News Now. With 89 entrants already announced for the upcoming Sioux Falls Independence Day Parade, the community has plenty more to look forward to as summer rolls on.
