A powerful storm tore through Pendleton County, Kentucky, leaving behind a trail of destruction. The storm damaged barns, homes, and trees, with residents waking up to scenes of devastation. On Broadford Road, a barn collapsed onto tractors and other farm equipment, creating challenges for the owners as they work to untangle the debris without causing further damage.
Cleanup Efforts Underway
Residents are pitching in to help with cleanup efforts, with many loading up trailers and making burn piles in fields to dispose of debris. The storm also caused major roof damage to at least three houses in a nearby neighborhood. Despite the destruction, no serious injuries have been reported.
Blake Stephens, who is assisting in the storm zone, said, “We’re loading up trailers and we’re making big burn piles in the field. My grandparents own some land back here, so we’re making big burn piles and loading trailers with debris, and we’re going to take some loads to Rumpke as well.”
The cleanup is expected to take time, with restoring electricity among the first priorities, as fallen trees have impacted the power grid.
