A stolen iguana in Fountain, Colorado, has been returned home safely. Cassandra Estrada’s beloved pet, Juana, went missing on Friday after escaping her apartment while she was at work. A video of the iguana walking around made it to Facebook, where Estrada says an unknown woman made a poster to come pick up Juana.
Estrada spent several days searching for Juana, who is pregnant with infertile eggs, which could come with fatal complications if not properly cared for. Estrada filed a report with the Fountain Police Department, which they confirmed. Juana was returned home safely on Monday night.
Estrada expressed her gratitude for the support and hard work that led to Juana’s safe return, saying, ‘From the bottom of my heart, I am truly grateful for all the support and hard work you have all put into making it happen.’ Estrada can now rest assured that her pet is safe and well where she rightfully belongs.
