Camping at Eisenhower State Park runs the full range from primitive tent sites to full hookup RV spots, many of them with direct water views. Waking up to the sound of waves lapping against the bluff below your campsite is an experience that is genuinely hard to replicate anywhere else this close to the DFW Metroplex. Sites fill up fast on spring and summer weekends, so booking through the Texas Parks and Wildlife reservation system a few weeks in advance is strongly recommended.
Day visitors are equally welcome. The park charges a modest entrance fee per person, and the facilities are clean and well managed by Texas Parks and Wildlife staff. Picnic areas are scattered throughout, shaded by mature post oaks, and the overall atmosphere is relaxed and family-friendly without feeling overcrowded.
Denison is a town with a lot of layers, and Eisenhower State Park represents one of its most beautiful ones. Whether you come for a single afternoon hike or a long weekend under canvas, the park has a way of making you feel like you found something real.
