The State Fair of Texas has announced the finalists for the 2026 Big Tex Choice Awards, featuring unique and tasty foods. This year’s finalists have been narrowed down from 30 semi-finalists to feature five savory, five sweet, and five “sipper” items.

The contenders will now advance to the main event at the State Fair, where they will compete for one of the winning titles: “Best Taste – Savory,” “Best Taste – Sweet,” and “Best Taste – Sipper.” Some of the finalists include Burger Chop Tater Tacos, Dickel’s Texas Two Step Tacos, and Flamin’ Crunch Pizza.
Fairgoers will have the opportunity to sample these winning creations when the fair arrives in Dallas on September 25. The Big Tex Choice Awards have been held at the State Fair since 2005, and each year, concessionaires create unique and tasty foods to compete for a chance to become a finalist.
