The Central City Economic Development Sales Tax Board in Kansas City recently met to discuss various projects and funding allocations. CCED Impact Report
Consultants presented an impact analysis of the first seven rounds of the CCED program, highlighting its role in neighborhood revitalization. The report showed that the program has funded 58 projects, invested $88.2 million, and leveraged nearly $1 billion in capital investment. Additionally, the program has created or redeveloped 1,473 housing units and supported about 2,530 jobs.
The board also reviewed financial and project updates, including a request for additional funding for the Historic Lincoln Building project. The applicant, Henry Service, requested more funds due to increased construction costs and delays. The board took no action but directed staff to provide a formal project modification application.
Project Updates
Staff provided updates on various projects, including the Promise Place, Link Vista, and Lineage. The board also approved a recommendation to recover $100,000 in unused funds from the Conrad Wright Media Building project.
The meeting focused on evaluating the long-term impact of CCED investments and discussing ways to expand technical assistance and increase direct engagement with neighborhood residents and small developers.
