FRISCO, Texas — The Dallas Stars will begin the playoffs without their top goal scorer, Jason Robertson, who suffered a lower-body injury in the final regular-season game, coach Pete DeBoer said Friday.
Robertson is considered week-to-week. That means he will miss at least the first few games of the opening-round series against Colorado. DeBoer did not share further medical details.
Game 1 is Saturday night in Dallas.
Robertson leads the Stars with 35 goals and has added 45 assists this season. He was injured in a 5-1 loss Wednesday at Nashville after a collision along the boards with Predators forward Michael McCarron. He was seen wearing a brace on his right leg as he left the arena.

“It was a hockey play. (McCarron) is a physical guy. He’s going to get a piece of you as you move the puck,” DeBoer said Friday. “They just happened to be going opposite directions.”
Asked if Robertson might return early in the series, DeBoer said, “If the series goes more than a week, then yeah.”
The Stars will open the series without their leading scorer and must adjust their lineup and game plan. The team faces a tough Colorado squad, and Robertson’s absence could affect Dallas’ scoring balance. The club will monitor his recovery day to day as the series gets underway.
