St. Petersburg author Dominic Trimboli releases debut novel blending history and sci‑fi

St. Petersburg resident Dominic Trimboli has added author to his résumé with the release of The Destroyer of Worlds, the opening volume of a planned three‑book series that mixes real 20th‑century American history with speculative science‑fiction.

From tech executive to storyteller

Trimboli, originally from Australia, moved to the United States in 2005 and spent nearly two decades working for major technology firms, including Microsoft and Amazon Web Services. After his role became redundant in 2023, he began contracting for companies such as Google and Amazon through his own firm, Boston Private Equity Partners.

Seeking a more community‑focused life, Trimboli and his wife Lucy left their home in Melbourne Beach, Brevard County, for the Old Northeast neighborhood of St. Petersburg. The couple, parents of two adult sons, chose the city for its urban feel after finding Tampa too large for their tastes.

Four months ago he started a new career as a senior small‑business banker at Regions Bank in downtown St. Petersburg, saying he enjoys speaking with local entrepreneurs and hopes to stay in the role for the next decade.

About *The Destroyer of Worlds*

The novel centers on James Forrestal, the nation’s first Secretary of Defense under President Harry S. Truman. In Trimboli’s narrative, Forrestal leads a secret group of scientists and strategists—often linked in popular legend to the alleged “Majestic 12”—to investigate unidentified aerial phenomena in the late 1940s.

Trimboli weaves real figures such as Wernher von Braun and Admiral Richard Byrd into a plot where an advanced humanoid civilization, the Agarthans, lives beneath the Earth’s surface in a realm called Agartha. The Agarthans are portrayed as intelligent and peace‑loving, yet they intervene when the United States drops the atomic bomb on Japan, fearing the surface world’s destructive path.

Historical events like the 1947 Roswell incident appear alongside fictional elements, allowing Trimboli to ask readers, “Could this have happened?” He emphasizes that the story is not an alternate history but a blend designed to engage readers with both fact and imagination.

Future volumes and author’s vision

The series, titled “The Akkadian Meditations,” continues with *Sky Without Stars* and *The Fire From Heaven*, and a fourth book, *The Templar Conspiracy*, is slated for release soon. Trimboli says the books aim to make Earth feel significant in a vast cosmos, offering a cautionary parallel to today’s challenges with powerful technologies such as artificial intelligence.

When asked why he chose writing, Trimboli replied, “I wrote a book that I would love to read. If someone else enjoys it, that’s great.” He hopes his work will inspire curiosity about both our planet’s hidden histories and its future role among other civilizations.

Local impact

Beyond his literary pursuits, Trimboli’s new banking position connects him directly with St. Petersburg’s small‑business community. He says the role satisfies his desire to help people, a shift from his previous corporate work.

Trimboli’s story reflects a broader trend of professionals relocating to St. Petersburg for its blend of urban amenities and close‑knit community feel, contributing to the city’s cultural and economic vitality.
