Springfield Public Schools will host its fifth annual Back to School Bash on Saturday, July 25, at the Springfield Expo Center. The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. and run through 2 p.m., offering a range of free services and supplies to students and families.
Available Services and Supplies
A free lunch will be provided from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., along with backpacks, groceries, and hygiene kits. Attendees can also receive free CoxHealth sports physicals on the upper level of the Expo floor, although registration appeared to be full as of Thursday night. The upper level will also feature enrollment into Springfield Public Schools, applications for free and reduced lunch, and a giveaway of hygiene kits and socks.
The lower level will contain the bulk of activities, including backpack giveaways, a community partner resource fair, and groceries. Lunch will also be served on the lower level. A STEM and Art zone will be available, with coloring pages and hands-on activities. Inflatables and nine square, a popular gym game, will have their own spots at the Back to School Bash. A fire truck and SWAT vehicles will be at the event as well.
